So here it is the long awaited updated!
Deciding for the destination for honeymoon was quite easy though. We had a few choices in mind; Bali, Turkey, Goldcoast, Maldives. Eventually, the offer by Scoot was the deciding factor to go to Sydney/Goldcoast. We jumped on the wagon and went ahead with 2 weeks of honeymoon! Oh boy, was that fun or what! Lepaskan geram tak travel for god-knows-how-long. Thank god we had planned the itinerary and do the necessary booking way beforehand. 6 months in advance I think? Because I remember towards the wedding date, we were so busy that we did not even revisit our itinerary. Go jer, they said.
We flew off on Thursday (4 days after the wedding) wee morning. Both our parents sent us off at the airport at 11pm. Flight was at 1am.
He can never take proper picture ever!
Anyway, it was our first time having long flight (8 hrs!). Quite an experience I must say. I was scared due to the horrible turbulence (and also news on missing flights) but Alhamdulillah we were both safe till the end. I could hardly sleep because of my non-stop worrying and also no thanks to the awkward/stiff seating position. Well, the consequences of wanting to save that extra $$. Heh.
Touched down and took the train to ‘Town Hall’ station. Super love their public transport can! So clean and efficient (on time, ehem sg). You can actually shift the seats by lifting it up to change its direction and it’s a 2-story train. How cool is that! Sorry, jakun giler.
A was in-charge of booking of accommodation. Our boutique hotel, Park 8, was super cozy and the people there are ever so friendly 😀 The location is so centralized and got a lot of shops all around to explore be it for shopping or for food.
We stayed in Sydney for 6 days. Not bad..quite similar to Singapore city except that their weather was superb! It was supposed to be Summer but turned out to be quite chilly despite the shining bright sun. Initially we thought it was because of some shop with strong air condition everywhere. Lol! Selenger -.-”
A went crazy with their bread. Sedap and lembut giler pls. And look, their paper bag so pretty lorr! K tak important. We had kebabs almost every other day. Delicious without a doubt but it came in big portions that we soon grew sick of it :s
For Day 1, we pretty much just explore the surrounding area 🙂
Day 2, we took the ferry to go to Taronga Zoo! Let the pictures do the talking (actually got a lot of animals’ pictures but I will be skipping that) . Look how blue and clear the sky areeee *.* A did not even sweat over there.
The angmohs sure love their pork. This was what we managed to eat whenever we went to eat. Chips/kebabs errday.
Day 3: Bondi Beach
Day 4: We went to Fish Market! Took their railway. This place is known as seafood heaven! XD
We went shopping at Paddy’s Market for souvenirs right after.
Day 5: Sydney Harbour
On our last day, we managed to find a nice chinese halal restaurant for lunch! I was sick of kebabs and missing the chilli sauce realll badd. This mee goreng was deliciouss and came in big portions, as usual. It was supposed to be eaten for 1 pax but obviously had to share it with A. Kenyang giler! Which explains my expression in the next picture. Heh.
I guess we were quite laid back at Sydney. We took public transport everywhere to explore the places (we bought pass valid for a week). We didn’t do much shopping as it’s quite expensive. The only thing we shopped were at Woolworths. This place is the BEST pls. We shopped for breakfast items (cereals), tidbits, timtams (AUD 1.50 each. SG is $4 plus eh!) and lots of chocolates!
Day 6: Last day in Sydney. Left Sydney for Goldcoast via Virgin flight by noon.
And that’s when our crazy adventure begins…THEME PARK BABY!
